Yet another Newbiggin Lifeboat model. There are still a few finishing touches to ad but nearly there.

Nice. Is it a Models by Design moulding?
-
it certainly is a stunner.......beautifully built.
I think the MBD atlantic is a 1:10 scale moulding tho.

RMH this is a scratch build, I started with plans supplied by the RNLI over a year ago. When B - 864 'Richard Wake Burdon' arrived at Newbiggin in September 2012 I found I needed to make a few changes. The later Atlantic 85s have modified roll bar and easier deck access for maintenance which is different to the original drawings

The original plans were in 10th scale, I scanned these, altered the scale with Photoshop saved as jpeg and reprinted in 12th scale. A bit of hassle but it worked
Thanks Rod

Rod you have done such a great job on the Newbiggin boat, you could pop up the coast and
have a go at the Amble boat. There are two to pick from - The Four Boys -Mersey Class or
the nearly new Mildred Holcroft our Inshore D class.

Thanks Geoff,
I know the Amble boats very well when I was Helmsman at Newbiggin on quite a few occasions the stations worked together on service and still do. The 'Four Boys' is on my to do list.
