Heads up! If you prefer to get your favourite model mag or many other mags for that matter, www.pocketmags.com are doing a great Easter promotion of 50% off!

Magazine subscriptions can be bought and the mag viewed on apple, android or windows gadgets. For example, 12 month digital subscription for marine modelling is £13.99, model boats is also £13.99.

There are lots of other titles and categories. I've no connection with pocketmags, they just sent me an email with the Easter offer.

You sure that price isn't for the 6 month subscription of Model Boats?
I have taken a look and can't see a 12 month one for that price, only the 6 copy version.  The 13 issue version being £26.99


A years subscription for the digital copy from the mode lboats web page is £19.99 for the year

Apologies! The Model Boats is for a 6 month subscription, Marine Modeller is a 12 month subscription though.

Ahhh, Thought I was looking in the wrong place.

I am thinking of subscribing to Model Boats though and the digital method seems a good way to do it. Less to store in the house and half the cost. :)

Yes, That is indeed true. You don't get the free gift either for new subscribers which is a rather natty aluminium case with some tools in it. :)


I don't think the lack of plans would bother me too much as I haven't yet built from any magazine plans and I could buy them through their plan service if I had the urge.
There is something to be said for having the physical magazine in your hands too, Not sure I would read it as thoroughly if it was on a laptop screen?

The nice thing about a Model Boats subscription is the digital back issues service that comes as part of it. I am not sure about Model Boats but for RCM&E aircraft it goes back about 5 years.
The sad thing is that whilst I can view back issues I don't seem able to download them. If I want a page to keep I have to grab it with ScreenHunter.

i got the wife to buy my subscription as a christams pressent and got a planet transmitter as a free gift cant beat having the mag in your hands to read  :-))

You should be able to print the page by right clicking on it. The digital editions go back to January 2007.
 
I'm afraid that downloads are blocked for copyright reasons.
