hello all
i am new to model boats
i picked up a model of a huntsman boat some time ago and all it needed was radio gear fitting and finishing off the details, i have managed to fit some radio gear and it it works but if it is done right or not, well thats another thing.
what i am having problems with is the other details, finishing touches has i have no plans for it so if any one now where i can find the plans for details i would be great full.
i would also like to know if anyone on here know about a place in scarborough north yorkshire where i can try out my boat, i know there is a club in bridlington but i cant afford memberships fees.
if there is no club in scarborough i would like to start on
so if any one what to help in any way please get in touch
i will post pictures of my boat when i can
thank you

Plenty of pictures of the real things here http://www.faireyownersclub.co.uk/ (http://www.faireyownersclub.co.uk/)
Can't help you ref the club though.

Is there not an area of the lake in Peas Holm Park
(Away from the manned warship display area)
you can use?

There is a boating lake just up the glen from Peasholm Park, I've spent many a happy time there. It can be a bit shallow at times if it hasn't been cleaned.
I've seen people sailing boats on the Mere, Its a better place to sail in my opinion as you can park closer, the water is deeper and it's quieter during the summer (no bratty kids with their wayward toy yachts).

hello ali
i have seen boats in the area around the open air theater but not sure of when i can try my boat
it has not been tested yet apart from in the bath and if it stop in the middle i will need to get wet and get but i dont know how deep it is.
i think the mere will be to deep
i am not sure on the range of the radio gear too
-
You can test the range of your radio on dry land with the aid of a friend or even the wife (if you have one). Most modern radios will give you a max range where you would have difficulty seeing the model, but a dry land check will give you reassurance. All the best with your model.
