Before you switch off %% I have just purchased this transmitter now I am looking for the best way to take advantage of its many features in a steam launch.
Timer is an obvious one but any other ideas would be welcome. :-)) :-))

A little exponential on the rudder if you want the extra steering precision
You could also play with the throttle curves

ch 5 gear is a good on/off switch, I opened the tx case up, and disconnected a redundant pot and ran wires to a proportional knob mounted on the top of the case, this gives me on ch 3 a method of slow turning a servo which I use for a smoke gen in my boat.
Its a great tx, and orange clone rx's for less than a tenner work fine! I extensively use one for rc planes and helis, thats what most of the functions are good for :-))

yep its a good solid tx. Only reason i stopped using it was because i needed more channels on my heli for the co pilot. I pssed mine on to my son for his collection of micro planes and helis.
Still using dsmx technology but have a jr9503 9ch tx. Should do everything i need lol

I found the display a little hard to see with no backlight but for $4.99 a Turnigy LCD backlight panel fits right in. I used this great step by step tutorial http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=339313 (http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=339313)
While I was inside I added the spring for the left stick as well, makes things easier for my setup.
Have fun with your new radio!
