hmmm. well i can say it certainly gave off plenty of smoke. might need dialing down a little unless you plan in imitating a boat fire, {-) O0
-
It does produce smoke, but I think you would require a indoor pyrotechnics license to use it, and mine is long expired.

Gerald.

It smoked okay, Potassium Nitrate, Sulphur and some other things added me thinks.
What are using it for, a smoke source from a smoke stack in a boat? Or as a display effect-boat on fire kind of thing?
Si:)

i sure do martin .... :-) i think im going to make it lass potent and maybe try a liquid form of it
-
and the ingredients i used was
potassium chlorate (KClO3 - oxidizer), sugar (sucrose or dextrin - fuel), sodium bicarbonate (otherwise known as baking soda) :-) oh and a little water %%

Surprised you did that indoors. :(( However the Holy Grail is BLACK smoke. Model aircraft have suppliers of coloured, red, yellow, orange, blue etc smoke pellets but the "black" is a sort of purpleish non-scale colour. Metal tube holder essential. Average burn time 90 seconds. I have halved them and put two sections end to end and got twice the time.
-
Ye I have seen them pellet type. And they are crap
I'm aiming to get this in to a liquid form so we will see how it goes over the next week or so
-
www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmtb89hFdUI this is half a small pellet from Robot Birds. What about black, is it possible ?
-
Black is possible !! And a few people know about it. However the " thing/substance " that is used to produce black smoke has very cancerous properties there for I will be staying well away from it. It's that bad I won't actually mention the name of it in here. It's a no no
-
No new Pope then !

Ian said he worked for a fireworks company, so I don't think the candidate for the Darwin Award shown in the video would be him.

Gerald.
