Title: Mast for Seaport.

Hi All,  Does anyone know of a shop that sells masts for tug boats ? as I would dearly love to replace the red tower on my Seaport. I know some of you will say to make one but I am not very skilled at making parts and when I concentrate on small parts my hands get the shakes a bit. I have been looking at all the shops on the internet but none seem to sell these parts.  Ian.

If it is a single mast as opposed to the built-up type, look at wooden knitting needles , they come in various gauges.  Some plastic chopsticks   have square end that could be scale and should be easy to fit.  Broken transmitter aerial can be a source of tapered types. Hope this helps.

A McDonalds McFlurry SPoon can be the basis of a good mast...

Cheap Artists paint brushes from Pound shops are tapered and wooden.

Wow !!!  your brains must work different from mine as I would never have thought of any off these. The Bic razor handle, now that you have told me I realise that there are a few on Mayhem that I have seen that have incorporated that method also the knitting needle but as I don't knit and have a beard I have gone for the chopstick one as we had a couple of them in the cutlery drawer. hi there i would go with the wooden artists brush just used one on my seaport mod will be downloading a pic of the mast asap best regards.

Thanks Pete but I have already gone ahead and used the chopstick and I am happy with it, as soon as possible I will get some pictures on here althoug it is my 1st attempt at something like this and it cannot compare to the boats I have already seen on here. By the way Im 64 and knackered and have just discovered this hobby and having joined a club Im really enjoying sailing my seaport. Ian.
