Title: bearings sizeing

Whilst doing some essential maintainence to my Nangee tug i noticed the shafts had some excessive play, so out they came along with what remained of the bearings  :o .
they were well shot and this might have something to do with the noise and water ingress, the problem is they are 4x7x2.5-3mm i have not measuerd the depth of the recess in the tubes.
So after a search i was only able to find 4x8 bearings, which i would fit but the tubes are only 8mm so there wouldnt be any material left.
Any ideas please.

Try propshop they sell the phospher bronze bearings for shafts.

daz.............are the ball bearings subjected to water? .....if so 300 series stainless steel bearings with ZZ shields [stainless steel in this case] or LLU [plastic] shields are available and are relatively inexpensive & will not rust
Sealed ball bearings should last 1/2 a lifetime or more [b500,000]  :o  ...& that's a lot of hours .....Derek  :-))

Cheers guys , all sorted now , like the man said  "5 seconds on the web " and e-bay came up trimps with a full set .
They arived this morning whilst i was fishing , so this aft i simply popped them into the tubes and fitted the shafts,
smooth as silk. Just got to refit the lot back in the hull.
