All explained.

i read that before i posted
dident tell me much
quad core ? and 3 settings ?
-
Looking at the Mtroniks web site, http://www.mtroniks.net/ (http://www.mtroniks.net/) the TT range is not listed under marine applications, they are shown as being for cars.

yer thats what i thought to
but would they be a better opt ? more hi tech but cheaper ?
it says they are fully waterproof
but they talk about lipo batt etc low voltage 7v will they handle 12v ?
they say they were designed for their 20th anniversary
motronik been going for 25 years so they are 5 years old design , how old is the viper design ?

oldshrimper......the following is an extract from the mtroniks WEB site for the TT 25....................& yes as Peter notes they are specifically listed for model car application's
"These new controllers also have Li-Po battery support and three driver profile modes, so the controller can be used as a forwards and brake only, forwards and instant reverse or forwards, brake then reverse!"
My lay understanding of brake mode is a form of back EMF or electrical retardation prior to the reverse function which is polarity reversal........ I would stay away from the TT version <*< for a marine application ...... >>:-( ......Derek

Tend to agree, they are for Cars with braking facility.
Need their Marine version, if it helps I use Action and Electronize at the moment but tomorrow ?????????????????????
Don't forget if you buy anything from UK it is list price less 20% which is their GST (VAT), unless the price listed is exclusive of GST (VAT).
-
ok i will stick to the marine viper
just gotta find some where in the UK that ships to oz at an affordable rate
some of them are more for the shiping then the unit
-
Some other options are buy from US or Hong Kong.
Most Hong Kong suppliers give you a choice of cheaper delivery methods :-)) :-))
-
i haven't seen a viper 25 on any HK sites YET been looking ?
-
Hi.
Why dont you contact mtroniks direct, they are very approachable.
Regards.

they are dearer than cornwall model boats
its the shipping thats a rip 10 quid to ship one to oz on e bay from the UK
cornwall say 2 quid air mail but not sure if that to os or just round the UK
-
The rip-off is nothing to do with the seller. After recent changes in their pricing structure, Royal Mail now charge £8.80 for a 75gm small packet without delivery confirmation. This price seems the absolute minimum for any small packet to Oz unless the supplier has a contract with the Royal Mail. CMB are losing nearly £7 if they only charge you £2, which represents their total profit on the ESC plus a bit more. Malcolm is a nice bloke but he's not a philanthropist.
As for the TT, the tech specs say 4-8 cells or 2S LiPo (9.6v and 7.4v nominal respectively) and it is advertised as a car speed controller. Why then would you think it was suitable for a boat with 12v (which is 10 cells)?
Horses for courses, m'duck - and this one is a non-runner in the 12v boat stakes.

wow 8,80 to oz min charge
>>:-(

That's why I look, ask, for alternate cheaper shipping costs if not, I buy elsewhere even different brand if need be.
Some places don't even bother about what it costs to post, they just take what is available and let the customer pay.

You'll be lucky with alternatives! I just contacted our international freight brokers and they quoted six different carriers' prices for a hypothetical small package 15cm x 10cm x 3cm of less than 1 kg. The lowest was £33.20 and highest was £67.80. £8.80 suddenly doesn't seem so bad, does it? As for companies who don't charge for delivery, they either have the cost built into their pricing structure or they won't be in business for long.
The clever thing to do is to club together with other modellers now and again and send a bulk order to a UK supplier. That way the shipping costs are shared and can be much less than nine quid per item.
Suit yourself.
