Ah. Now that is a different question ... to which I don't know the answer.
-
Well when sharp things went missing at home the culprit was generally my young son. O0 :police:

Leave it until tomorrow, then go out and buy a new one. You are guaranteed to find the old one within 24 hours. Never fails.

:-)) I am always looking for my glasses so now I have glasses everywhere 2 pairs in workshop 1 in car 1 in living room and 1 in bedroom, and sometimes I still can't find em,the problems of getting old,Ray. %% %%

Start looking for something else, that usually works for me

Last time I lost my Stanley knife I became very unreasonable to be around, not ANY OLD copy will do, no matter how snazzy the handle looks etc, Stanley or nothing >>:-(

Any moment now, this is what I am going to do. It's either buy a new one or.........ask my wife where it is! :o
-
She might have borrowed it to score the skin on the
Sunday leg of pork joint.
Mine was in the habit of that so I bought her one of her own.
Now she just purloins a new blade now and then.
Ned
-
Just ask stanley ;) :embarrassed: O0 {-)
-
just goes to show, if you have never lost anything,
Youve got nothing to loose. {-)

The subsequent certainty theory then comes into play - within the week they will both vanish. I could lend you one of my collection if I knew where they were.
-
Cant find Stanley in my man cave let alone the house Bought a new one last week and lord knows where it has gone....probably in Neil's workshop along with his chuck key

%) Looks like B&Q and Specsavers are making a fortune out of Mayhemers, oh well someone got to keep the economy going,Ray. %) %) %)

its bound to be wherever you left it ! ive got into the habit of putting knives / chisels etc away as soon as ive used them , our 4/5yr old great gandsons often come to visit , our bedroom is also my model building room , and they often wander in to look at our boats or the tamiya car there allowed to play with !
-
It's okay, I've found it!
I didn't have to ask but nor did I remember where it was. What I remembered was the conversation that I had with myself when I last put it down. It went something like: "If you put it there, it'll drop into one of those grooves and you'll not be able to find it again!"
I should have listened to myself.
Anyway, it's found. Thanks for all the help in what has been a troubling period of my life. :-))

Hope to see the vid on tube of the coming together of a man and his Stanley
I have the man size tissues ready .

Stanley and Livingstone come to mind!....
-
{-) Why have they lost their knives too?.Ray. {-) {-) {-)
-
Livingstone was famous for sticking a Stanley knife into the back of Andrew McIntosh in the days of the Greater London Council
-
Now, now Colin <*< You've reduced my perfectly sensible thread to political repartee. Shame on you! {-)

Cool! So it's not just coincidence that a coin fits the screw.
-
I have just found my long shafted phillips screwdriver on the bedroom floor where someone had borrowed it, its used for deeply recessed screws with small access holes, not just to take the guard off a fan to clean it.. hmmmph, plus put it back when you finish.

FOUND IT :-)) :-)) :-)) %% %% %% %% 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

I appear to have an amazing and very magic tool/model box .. it seems whatever I put into it .. scalpel , paint brush, clamp . etc. I turn away , then come back to it .... It's gone !!
Rooting around never seems to find what I'm looking for; I then have to make do with something else because the glue or paint is drying ..job gets finished and amazingly what I'm looking for turns up again !!!
maybe there is a troll or something living in the bottom of the box...... I saw them on Harry Potter once ..
Ted :police:

I think you might be right Ted O0

funny you should ask that question.I have 5 of them! I can normally find one or two of them.I bought all but the first after "mis laying" them, and then soon after finding them.I now have another stanley type which folds and I can keep in my pocket, but not when I go out as it is now an offence to carry a blade.now where did I put that red one?....... Ooooh, there is my chuck key,it must have fallen out of the hole in my pocket where my stanley knife should be.....

Ned: I re-found my youth a couple of years ago. I used to build models four decades ago, and am now having fun building and sailing models. :}

%% Had another look, found three stanley knives and choc. bar no batteries yet, eating choc bar (mars), about my youth must have been good can't remember much about it though, have a look for batteries tomorrow when I am in a better mood, funny what you can find when you are looking for something else,Ray %% %%

Ray, can you look for my batteries while you're at it please?
I've got two lipo packs from planes somewhere, plus a large brushless motor that was going to go into a 1/6th scale SE5A. I think I put them somewhere "safe" >>:-(
-
I used to blame my son for everything that went missing, until he left home and then as my wife says "there's only you that goes into the shed!"

When you find that safe place let me know... I think my AA battery charger is there as well

:) My dad always used to blame me for missing tools when I lived at home, but normally it was me :embarrassed:
