This weekend 10th & 11th of August is the annual RNLI regatta at Paddy Freemans, Heaton, Newcastle. I think the plan both days is for Straight Running on the mornings and RC display in the afternoon. Come down have a look and help raise money for this very valuable cause. Should be boats on the water from about 10am

Enjoyed the last straight running event it made a nice change. Would my RC steam launch be welome over the weekend?

Hi Steam Up,
Of course, the more the merrier. I'm not sure I'll be about in the afternoons but if you make yourself known to Sara Glendinning. I'll let her know you might be calling up.

With a bit of luck will make a day of it on Saturday. :-))

Your weclome really enjoyed the welcome and the day great atmosphere at the club. :-)) :-))

Well you'll be welcome any time, we meet all day Wednesday and most Saturday and Sunday afternoons. We got a straight running heat this coming Saturday 31st Aug, then on Sunday 1st Sept. South Shields club are having an invitational open day down at Marine Park on the sea front. Heaton will have a presense there too. I think there is a Straight Running comp and possibly a club 500 comp that day......as you will probably know the lake is big enough for radio boats to have a sail all day too.

Thanks for the invite, think I will be down at the Paddleducks do at Darlington on Sunday but might be able to make it for a chat on Saturday.
For anybody else looking for a good day out and a north east welcome I can't recommend the Heaton gang enough.
