Hi Richard, Yesterday you missed our open regatta at Kearsney Abbey Lake, thats where the Model Boat Association Dover meet and sail allsorts of boats. If you need any help we have lots of helpful members.
Google us to find our Web Site and when on click the Flickr link to see lots of photos.
Regards,
Len.

Yes that's the people I'm more than interested to meet and fire loads of questions at.
I have seen you down there a few times. Do you think mine would be a problem using it down there?
Could you let me know the next time you meet up please.
-
Not sure what boat you have. We are not allowed IC powered ones and no fast electric.
Some of us meet there on Wednesday evenings for a natter and to iron out any problems, around 7pm.
There is a Regatta at Herne Bay on Sunday 18th if you would like to meet some of us.
Regards,
Len.

Ok Len. Sadly I'm building an IC boat.
Replica severn class lifeboat.
I'm ow of course thinking that given the circumstancees over the only place it would be able to be used would be the marina or the harbour.
But saying that at the moment it will be a big boat. Maybe make a smaller one for Kersney Abby and a larger one for the lifeboat.
Hmm will have to have a think about it.
Cheers Richard,

There are some BIG electric ones with Brushless Motors in them ( 3ft or so )

Ok so I have a plan.
I have another thread up in the lifeboat forum so far.
I'm going electric. The whole reason for going IC was to make the exhaust flaps on the model working, so water and exhaust is ejected from them.
A if I go electric and have a small IC engine inside the boat I can still have this. The electric running but with the exhaust coming out. Also have water coming out aswell.
Means I can turn off the engine if its noisy but still use the boat.
