Hi everyone.
I'm having a little problem with some diagrams for a Flower Class Corvette's mast lighting system. There are positions of a flashing lantern at the top of the mast and a V/F lantern next to the oil and electric steaming lamps.
I'm fairly new to nautical engineering and I can't find reference to a V/F lantern so I have no idea what it is. Also if someone could tell me what colour a typical naval flashing lamp was and how often it would flash on a second world war warship I would be extremely grateful.

Hi
I'm no expert but I would suggest the flashing lamp would be a signal light i.e. for sending morse code.
It would therefore be white all round light.
