Title: Futaba 8FG
Post by: phil b on September 03, 2013, 07:40:45 pm
I have a futaba 8fg (2.4G) I use mostly for model aircraft but I also use for a boat. I did have an aircraft ESC running a brushless motor in the boat and all was well until it eventually got wet and burnt out. I have now ordered a boat (waterproof) ESC. The boat ESC has a reverse.
My question is on the boat can I still use the (aircraft) throttle stick for forward speed and mix reverse onto another switch or slider. If I can how do I go about it. Or if not where do most people have the throttle function for forward and reverse using a Tx made for aircraft
Many Thanks
Phil

I take it your boat does not really require the reverse?
So continue as you are and set the ESC to Fd only if that is possible or you will need to center your throtle stick so as not to go astern by mistake, when you return your stick to your normal possition

the model is a little sea nymph so does not really need reverse
