I have just bought a kite with Led lights on to use at an illuminated kites event run by the Kent Kite Flyers, LUTS = light up the sky, to raise money for Children in Need.
My question is, it came with a charger for the Battery, it says Input 110v-240v it has only 2 flat pins, do I just get a 2pin x3 pin adaptor like the one I use for my electric Toothbrush.
Thanks for you help.

No problem Len
2 to 3 pin adapter is all you need.

I would hope there is some way of determining the correct input voltage. This is a transformer when all said and done and the output will be dependent on the input voltage. :o
Let us know more details please before you plug it in.

A lot of the cheap power supplies and chargers don't use transformers Ken.
Check out your phone charger. No transformer in that.

Looks like I've been left behind in today's world. I'll say no more.

You are not alone, as we here in OZ also need to convert, as no one has standardised pin configurations.
Gone are the days, when the electrical item came with the correct plug already fitted.
However, some items nowadays have supplied a couple of different plugs that 'clip' on to suit local pin configurations, :-)) :-)) :-))

So do I plug it in or.....

This is one I have and use for my Yacht 6V nimh packs and my Spektrum TX batteries.
If you read the spec on the link you can see that this is 110-220 V
There is no switch for voltage selection I just plug it in to the mains .

:-)) these multi voltage units are cheap to produce and cover all areas of the world so you are ok to use in any country,Ray. :-)) :-))

Thanks again guys.

Its the big bang theory. {-) {-)

:-)) If you want a charger that you can change voltage R.S. do one with interchangable plugs,I use this for charging Tx with different voltages, the changeover switch is the back by the pins, hope this of some help,Ray. :-)) :-))
-
:-)) Forget to mention the voltages available are 4.5 6.0 7.5 9.0 12.00, Ray. :-))

The one I showed earlier does both 4.8 & 9.6 automatically
and has a polarity reversing plug.
All for under a tenner.
Just a satisfied customer
