Title: model slipway trent props

hi
running a model slipway trent fitted with 2x belt driven motors
2 x 6v hunter esc and 2 x 6v 4ah batteries it went very well today to scale speed
I know im running it only on 6v and the props I have are approx. 45mm 4 bladed brass
are these ok or will I get better performance from 3 bladed props
cant use any bigger batteries as esc state 6v dc
any help appreciated

Hi mate, you could go for the bigger battery like the 6 volt 12ah this would give you up to 3 times more running time.

you wouldn't get any better performance IMHO from running 3 blade props as against our 4 blade ones, but it does to an extent matter what profile the blades on the props are.......I have used semi clever scale props from prop shop on similar models in the past, as against the normal run of the mill scale props, and they work better.

cheers its not the run time im happy with that the four bladed props I have don't seem to have so much pitch on them as the 3 blade probs
ive seen  I would like a bit more speed not  a lot just a little but stuck with 6v unless I change from the hunter 6v escs I have in there

Hi Luke,
On mine I use 40mm 4 bladed Type A type and switched to type D but I do use Speed 600 eco motors on 9.6/8.4v x 2 nicd.
Conundrum...
But on the real Tamar they use 5 bladed and on the model 1/16th  45mm which is a tall order for the ECO 600 so may drop to 40/35mm unless anyone has used anything different?

On my 1:16th TAMAR I used 4 blade 45mm props from propshop and they gave excellent performance with ECO600's.

sorted it got more speed one of the pully cogs was slipping  on the belt drive
a lot better now  :-))
