Model Boat Mayhem

I'm asking for help with the building of my first radio controlled model, the trawler Maggie M, which I wish to complete with the gantry over the wheelhouse and the modified stern as she appears after her refit.
I have (hopefully) attached some photo's, three of which are 'borrowed' pics from other modellers who have submitted to this forum previously. I do hope this is in order !
Here we go with my questions.
Beginning with the stern…(the shelter deck?), what is the rectangular panel below the large roller assembly at the very aft of the boat and how were the nets and boards hauled out and back as I assume cables and nets have to be kept reasonably clear of working crew.. This deck also shows what I assume are large and small 'bins' for the nets… These don't appear to have any drainage for water run-off and neither does the deck as a whole. There is also a small central hatchway…for fish ? and I assume the crew access the lower deck from within the wheelhouse ?
The side of the ship shows recessed access ladder/s but no 'gate' in the handrailing so do crew members climb the rails and in harbour as well. There is also a roller assembly on the side which may be for side trawling ?
The front deck has 3 hatches which I would like to know the purpose of…. a largish central one (which must be quite heavy), a small one near the mast and one on the outside of the rails.
There is a winch on one of the (two?) booms, also one on the fore deck and then another on the wheelhouse roof. I assume the foredeck ones assist in lifting the boom/s for various unloading functions.
and finally, for now at least, can anyone help untangle the navigational lighting as it seems that a simple all round green over white is not all there is! to it The fore mast in all the photo's I can find appears to show the anchor light over all round green over red, then more green over more red, whilst on the gantry over the wheel house there appears to be a red and amber right at the top and to starboard it looks like white above red and then another white above red.
Any help would be really appreciated as I would so like to get my model as correct as possible
Many thanks
Jon

Many thanks to the lovely Douglas for all his help over the telephone today as he answered all my questions relating to trawler workings and the Maggie M in general.
Just a few details relating to the navigation lights to resolve.
