found a 20 year old gunfire module (2 sounds, machine gun and cannon) I got from Midway Models and am stuck because no instructions and a wire off battery box (corroded but can be replaced.)
anyone know what the 5 (should there be 5 or 6) wires coming from the chip connect to please? battery +-, speaker+-, switch for sound effect, etc
please if you remember or will I blow up the chip by experimenting?
regards
ian

If there are numbers on the chip you might be able to find a pinout on line that will give you the battery connections.

If its an 8 pin chip, they usually follow a common pattern. If you find an example of one, it should help simplify the reverse engineering needed to figure out which wire goes where. To sort out the power, there is usually an electrolytic capacitor across the power rails - find that, you will be half way there. A typical example on here - http://www.zen22142.zen.co.uk/Circuits/Music/sound_effects.htm (http://www.zen22142.zen.co.uk/Circuits/Music/sound_effects.htm) - different sounds, of course, but the principal applies.
