Title: Winter sail
Post by: steam up on November 11, 2013, 06:03:37 pm
On a cold crisp winters morning I set off to sail my steam launch Martha.
Changing the gas bottle after brewing up away she went, clouds of steam greeting the cool North East air.
After 20, minutes sail I had to think this was as good as it gets.

Amazing what a cold morning does to enhance steam effects, I found using my gas/steam powered garden railway train on a winters day makes for some lovely photos!
The lake at Roker is looking good still, must be about 8 years or so since I have been there, when one of my toy boats (when I was a kid!) got stuck in some underwater weeds in the middle! Some kind chap with a Yacht had some rope and helped to free it off!
Cheers,
Steven
