Title: Craycraft Failsafe?
Post by: unbuiltnautilus on December 02, 2013, 10:05:16 am
I am doing a quick refurb on a Seehund model before it gets shipped abroad, other than replacing one of the acrylic tubes, I am having an issue with the Shiptronics Control Unit onboard. It failsafes to Pump on/Dive, when the tx is turned off. Is there an adjuster in the unit ( I havn't opened the tube up yet ) allowing me to set the failsafe function, if it has one, to Blow?

What sort of receiver are you using in the module?

Fleet Rx with a Robbe FX series Tx.

Okay, well the receiver won't have any failsafes built in then which could countermand the onboard unit. There is an adjustment on the unit, but I can't recall what it's for, but will check later when I have the unit in front of me, unless someone else can elaborate in the meantime.

The potentiometer under the green tape will precisely trim the air release position for the servo.

Under the cover there should be a link to cut/resolder to switch the servo's dive direction.

Why you may ask?
Because there are two directions a servo can take when fed with the same command. All Hitec servos turn clockwise on longer pulses. The original servo must have turned the opposite way.

A speedy response from Mike at Microgyros, and a phone call explaining it all, what more could you ask.
Thanks to both of you for the help :-))
