After a long break from building this , I am back to continue the build !I have the chain drive sorted now , he suspension sorted and now the lights also ! I got the sound unit connected too . I have decided to do the same as most people do , and have both motors driving at the same time .A lot of photos show the DUKW with indicators fitted , but I don't believe they were fitted in a WWII configuration . Does anyone have a colour pic of the dashboard and maybe the size of it ? I have made the boat hook , bought the shovel , axe and petrol tanls from Deans Marine . I will eventually make the danforth anchor as well as the hand bilge pump .well that's all for now , til the next exciting episode !

I love seeing this type of model.
My two favorite military vehicles are the DUKW and the Alvis Stalwart.
-
I did start a Stalwart before I did the DUKW but that's on hold at the moment . It's a MUCH more dificult model to do on a budget .

HI Malcolm. :-)) I will check my pictures and scan them then forward on. Do you want the information plate detail for the cab? I can take some close up pictures of my model and post them again if need them. My drive system is very crude, ok on nice carpets the cat gets no sleep when I have this model in the house. Hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks Stan for the pics . You got any on your drive system and where did you get your wheels from ?

HI Subs one. The wheels on my D U C K came from Hobbies in the uk. The wheels were drilled out and 10 or 12 Ba studs and nuts glued in place. The wheels are solid oily based plastic and need a special primer on them before painting with enamel paint. I can not show the drive system because it is covered to stop water from entering the hull. A worm drive is fitted to the prop shaft this engages a cog on the rear axle and gives drive not the best idea but it works well on my carpet. I can chase the cat all over the house.
All the best.

where did you get the plans for the DUKW? been searching for a while the deans marine kits are a bit pricey for me
-
Excellent detail and weathering. Lovely model.
-
Try these . Decide what size you want to build to and enlarge the plans to suit . Buying the Italiera kit may help with details also .

HI Guys I have been getting a few e/mails about my DUKW the basic hull shape was made using 3mm light ply and 1/4 sq balsa. Sorry about the pink background I am unable to remove the picture from it. The picture shows the basic hull ready for the 1/6 ply sides to be fitted.
