Hi All,
On occasion I get the chance to do a bit of boating, I sometimes help a friend move narrow boats for different folk and another friend invites me each year to join him on his narrow boat, here are some photy's taken along the way, enjoy. :-)

This is a 72 1/2 ft historic working boat called "Chertsey" built in the 1930's, we had the please of moving this boat from Torksey Lock on the Trent across to Shropshire, it's home mooring, it took us five and a half days. On the trip, being just a deck hand and galley slave, I had to do all the cooking on a small coal fired range.

Will it fit.

The blue hulled steel motor boat with a tarp over the wheelhouse is Katrina an ex RAF MKIII 45ft Refueller (No. 1135) built in 1941 by Goole Shipbuilding & Repair, Goole. These were used for refuelling flying boats.
After her RAF service she was converted to a yacht and used mostly on the River Trent. She was was found in the South of France in 2000 and returned to the UK for restoration.
-
The photy was taken last year on the River Nene, at Water Newton I think, certainly near there. Where and how do you find the info you have given or do you just recognise the boat Christian. Shame the restoration is so slow.............
-
I recognised the hull straight away, it is my dark and sad secret that I am obsessed with all small ex service craft.
In this case I found more information using the excellent asr/mcs and National Historic Ships websites.
-
When I'm out on the next trip I'll keep a look out for interesting boats :-))
-

if you ever come across a narrow boat called Pooh Sticks, say hello to them from me.......(adlington, chorley where I used to keep her) and bid them a good sailing day......if you could get a photo even better.
cheers, neil.

Sorry GAZOU,
All I know is which river it was on last year in June when I was away with friends boating, it is somewhere just off the A1 main road near Peterborough (Water Newton) that is all I know.
I wish I could be of more help...............

I know my boat still exists as have found her on what was BWB registration info.....there's just no location for her.............
she was an ex Harbrough Marine 56' cruiser stern hire boat........I bought her from Concoform marine at Weedon Northants.....just up from Bugbrooke and Blisworth...bought her in 1990 and sold her in 1997 when my first daughter made her grand entrance, lol
miss the life sometimes, but not the aggravation of numpties who nick a double lock for themselves when they can see you motoring down, lol
