:-)) Hi,Guys,I will be going to Burnham on sea Somerset in June,does anyone know where I can get to sail around there,I heard that there is a lake but you have to get a permit,I am insured with MPBA, Ray. :-))
-
you need to go into the tourist information office on the sea front at Burnham no cost involved the permit lasts for a year
-
Should you be visiting bristol while you are there a good lake at Portishead 10 mins from the M5 J19 no permits and free parking/ Or come off at J 20 and come Via Clevedon

for burnham on sea there's apex lake , which is at the highbridge end of the town behind the petrol station, there's also another club which use the sea front pool at clevedon ( parking at salthouse fields car park ) and the woodspring lake at portishead , further inland there's another club who use the man made lake at the old cheddar models site at sharpham road , cheddar , then of course the shepton drifters who have the use of a couple of sites in and around shepton mallett ! jon

i will be out that way later this year too, not far from burnham on sea, any one know what day the local club meets ?
-
if we must insist on calling the lake by its correct name jay it's marine lake , portishead , north somerset . woodspring model sailing club sail there nice lake with easy parking along the seafront , with a very short walk to the water , not that I've sailed there for a number of years . theres also a lagoon at weston super mare seafront , next to the knightstone island which is deep enough to operate models in , not advisable on a spring tide as the water will cover the walkway separating the lagoon from the sea , don't ask ( my ic spearfish was last seen upside down heading towards swansea !! )

Anything but 'blinking!' Woodspring Jon and anyway I put a link at the beginning it's bad enough being addressed as Bristol and or Avon :}
