Title: Model Recogniton
Post by: html on May 26, 2014, 08:50:44 pm
Does anyone know what this model is?
I brought it today off ebay today, I want to renovate it and get it back running. I am not sure if the red piece in the cockpit belongs to the model, the bit with the set on it. The paint looks like it was put on with a roller, I can find three different colours on it also the stick on planking has lifted in places so I will be replacing that with some real planks.

I'd say that was an Aerokits Sea Commander if it's about 34" long, and the bit with seat is not part of it unless it's been removed from inside,  ;) Joe.

Thanks Joe I thought it was, but I was not sure about the rear railings. Also there are some steps on the rear of the model as, this other picture shows

Hi Brian,  I think the railings/pulpit and ladder have been added, as far as I can see from the photos they don't seem to be the correct scale, I would have thought they would have been higher, I personally think she would look better without them, with a few repairs and a nice paint job should bring her back to her former glory, these traditional cruisers look great on the water :-)). Look forward to seeing your progress Brian, I have a pilot boat about the same size that I scratch built, the hull is about 30 years old but has had a few different cabins and paint jobs. Joe.
