Since the demise and shrinking stocks of Graupner motors I've been finding
it very difficult to find a suitable equivalent motor for at least two sizes ie
400 and 600 in the Graupner range.
All suppliers I have been using just don't seem to have found replacements?
Can anyone give me some suggestions for equivalents and supplier please.
All Brushed motors though. 6v, 7.2v and 8.4v.
Thanks....

Check out ebay for Johnson and Mabuchi motors.
These are the exact same motors (just without the Graupner sticker) at a much lower price.
Maybe you dont find the motors by name, but by their outer dimensions.
Try shaft diameter and outer diameter as search options.
In germany we also have a lot of online "remaining stock sellers" where you can buy these motors for a few euro.
Like this one here http://www.pollin.de/shop/p/OTk4OTg4/Motoren/Gleichstrommotoren.html

The problem is there are so many different winds of motor. Graupner used to have many different types of motor with the same can sizes. However if you can find the right sizes then the prices are much lower as Time Bandit says.
For fast and sport scale I find brushless far superior. Brushed motors still have the edge for slower scale IMO, and offer good value.
