HobbyKing's international warehouse now stocks the Taranis X9D transmitter with receiver - £120.64 + delivery charge.
An incredible piece of kit for the money.

I saw this a few days ago. I have a Spektrum DX7s (which cost a little more than the Taranis) and you quickly bump into various restrictions.
I'm thinking of getting a Taranis now that HK has them back in stock. OpenTX seems to offer a lot of flexibility provided you're willing to dive into it. And the X8R has S.Bus which looks nice too.

This HobbyKing combo comes complete with a 16 channel receiver, they have done away with the aluminium case that used to be included.

The Taranis has built-in TX capabilities (ACCST) and it also has a slot for an extra RF module if you want to use a different protocol (say DSM/DSMX if you already have a bunch of spektrum receivers). In the combo above there's also a 16ch (8 PWM, up to 16 SBUS) RX and a TX battery.
HobbyKing also has their in-house Turnigy 9XR ($50) and their recent 9XR Pro ($100). On these you indeed gotta buy an extra TX module (multiple protocols supported if you already have a nice stack of RXs), around $35. These TXs also run OpenTX.
Overall that Taranis combo is a pretty good deal, at $208.
Yeah Hobby King is a bit of a mess sometimes. Taking a look at the manual under the "Files tab" can sometimes save you from spending money on a something that won't fit your needs.
No later than this afternoon, I was looking for a brushless outrunner around 650kV through their "Motor finder". One showed up as a 600kv in the specs. But the description said 500kv. So ?
On the other hand I can't deny they helped me save a few bucks. Their "nano tech" LiPos work great. Some of their brushless motors are pretty good. And electronics are dirt cheap (I'm using $5 brushed ESCs instead of relays ...)
