I've got a sheerline akula but I'm considering going in a more accurate direction. The scale ships kit looks like a good option. However I'm wondering if the sheerline WTC would be able to be used with this kit?
-
I think it will fit, but unlikely you'll get a scale waterline, if that is important.
Scale version will be a little less agile (smaller control surfaces).

Yes as Andy mentions, with the Sheerline WTc the sub will sit very low in the water much like the Sheerline Akula. On my Scaleships Akula, I used a 100mm do WTC that was 56cm long and got away with just a 500ml ballast tank but the sub sits on the designed surfaced waterline.

Is there a commercially available WTC that would be suitable or is it a case of build your own?
-
There are one or two commercial units available that would be suitable I think.
However they won't be cheap.
-
Do tell! I have some rc tanks that could be sacrificed on the alter of a decent akula.
-
OTW do a smaller WTC of about 90mm diameter which i think would be suitable.
Caswell also do a 3.5" WTC which again would be suitable I think.

Do you have a link to ccaswell, I can't only find electroplating kits on their site.
