Has anyone heard from him in the last fortnight?
He hasn't signed in since the 5th of this month.
Last time we spoke he was under the weather, so I'm a little concerned for his well being :((
-
Not a lot from Dave aka Norseman
who is a great friend and visited Mick
last year.
Any update on either?

Mick has Fairmount Alpine to build and I am as well so I was in contact about 3weeks ago . I had a personal email he has lost a lot of use of his arm after the stroke and is really hampered so his building has just about stopped, he says he keeps dropping in here to see how it's all going . So mabey not that wellby the sound of it .
I sent him a personal email to ask about his health and build progress and that was the reply I got.
Hope that helps
David

yes,, I had the lovely surprise of Mick phoning me two nights ago............we spent an hour and a half on the dog n bone putting the world to rights and talking about his unbelievable 6.5 K Kilometer trip around NW Canada and into Alaska........magnificent achievement, matey.
and from thousands of miles away Mick got first hand noise linkup to our own boys in blue chasing and ultimately arresting two blaggers that abandoned a stolen car at the end of our street....the helo was right over our house as the. scumbags made their way through gardens.........sadly not mine as I had a piece of 2 x 2 waiting to give short shrift.
yes we had a lovely talk, and Mick does come on here regularly to read all updates............so can I just say publicly, it is a pleasure and an honour to know you Mick, and I hope you get back into a little modelling as soon as possible.........we miss your comments even if only to take the p*** out of me, lol.
take care my friend and hope you are feeling a little better soon.
god bless you man., and your good lady, who I am sure is looking after you well,
all the best. neil.

HI guys, first of all thank you for your continued concern about my health & the emails I received from many of you wishing me well. It has been a long battle but I finally found a doctor from South Africa that took the time, had the patience & then most of all the skill to make me well again. It has been a gigantic struggle, one I nearly gave up on several times & would have without him & my ever faithful & loving wife who never said a negative word during those terrible months. I must not forget my two dogs that acted like doctors too day & night( they always want to pee at about 3 or 4 pm every morning without fail. Now I feel well enough to impart some of my Irish wit & sarcasm(not much wisdom) & may be the odd helpful hint on all you unfortunate forum members & I am sure Martin & Kenny too are already getting their BLUE pens to the ready to keep me on the straight & narrow. From the bottom of my heart I thank you one & all for the support I felt from you my Forum friends ,Mick Burke (irishcarguy.)

great to see you posting again Mick, lets hope you have many more witty comments to make............and I hope that before long you will be able to make a dent in that massive Speedline fleet that you have...........and don't forget, if you ever want anything sending we're always here for you. neil. :-)) :-))
-
well said Neil :-)) ......Mick....you have mates from all corners of our earth...which is still roundish from the latest reports {-)...... who wish you well........Derek :P

Good to have you back Mick, now I hope you are fit enough to work on those Lifeboats! It has been quite quiet on here the last few months, for banter, even the mighty Neil has been subdued (did I really put that in print???) Im sure it will be "Normal Service is Now Resumed" from both of you.
Best Wishes,
Mick F

Thank you guys. Neil I never did get the missing bits or the CD for the Tamar, sad really but we must not forget the really good guys. I ordered last week from Component Shop & it was here in 3 days & an order from Cornwall took just a week, talk about great service & nothing missing either, Mick B.

Derek, I must tell you that I nearly wound up an Aussie. True story, two of us had finished our time in the R.A.F. & no way were we staying in rainy England, we were ready to conker the World so applied at both the Australian & Canadian embassies to emigrate & was accepted by both. On my life we tossed a coin & Canada won ( or lost depending who you talked to) I left U/K from Liverpool on the 1st,April 1968 & arrived in Montreal on the 9Th on board either The Empress of Canada or The Empress of Britain, to this day I am not sure which one It was the last ship to bring immigrants, after that they were flown by plane. All I can say Derek that Australia lost a good Technician for Minis, Triumph's,MG's and sundry other British cars. Today all the cold weather makes it feel like a bad choice but I have no regrets, I now have grand children & have been back to U/K several times including the Beulah Auto Jumble twice. So you see life takes strange twists & turns. Any of you over there that fancy a few weeks holiday in Canada you can stay with us for free including your own Bedroom & full Bathroom anytime from July first to August the 31st. There are a couple on the forum that have been here already,Mick & Phyllis.
-
It's great to have you back Mick O0 Hopefully the bad times are behind you and only fair weather ahead.
Peter.

Welcome back Mick.

Mick....it's all in the luck of the draw..... %)
ok2 Many years ago....a young gentleman ...opps.....scoundrel was sentenced in Ye Olde Bailey [for crimes I will not mention] and his punishment was deportation to the New States of the Americas
Only problem was they had no ships available so he spent 3 years in the rotting prison hulks on the Thames
Well this maintained itself until some bright spark :embarrassed: said ...hey we have another 75 tourist type places vacant in the First Convict Fleet to OZ
So looking back at this I could have been a Yank {-) .... >>:-(...perish the thought........... Derek

Reading through this thread reminds me what a wonderful, family community Mayhem really is. :-)) :-))
