Still not allowed in to shed after the hip op ,so Fairmount is still on hold .I have had a bit of a plan to make something to tow and a have come up with Taklift 6 . Now this is where the brain wil not engage . Fairmount is built to 1:75 Ok so far . I would like the crane to be the same , I know I should be able to work all this out but cannot convince my self I am right .
From the spec sheet the barge is 72.56 mts long , 30.50 mts beam ,5.50 mts deep ,please can someone tell me how to work it out or what would be my build diamentions.
This lifter is on the Forth Crossing for the next 3 to 4 months so I might be able to get more pictures as well as useing the wonder web
Thank you
David still not building Fairmount Alpine

72.56m / 75 = 96cm or 38"
30.50m / 75 = 40.6cm or 16"
5.50m / 75 = 7.3cm or 2.9"

Thank you for your help , I could not convince my self , I was in the right ballpark nearly .Taklift is self propelled but I will not do that But try to get the crane/sheer legs to work . Now with your help I will be able to work out other sizes
Thanks again will start to rough out some plans ,this could be sometime

Always nice to have something to push around ! And a working crane would be pretty nice too.
I'm building a barge from my springer tug. Will be around 47" by 16". Not sure what I'll put on deck.
I already have a 17" air horn and compressor to scare off ducks on the pond.

Here's an online calculator for you
http://scalecalculator.appspot.com/ (http://scalecalculator.appspot.com/)
Just put in your values, change the output scale to what you require, ie 1.75 and it will do all the work for you.
Or a fully downloadable one here............

David this link should be of use to you. It is of the crane barge (sheerlegs) Cormorant. Its a PDF document that can be downloaded and down at the bottom of it are line drawings of the crane barge, it should be a simple job to scale them to what you require.
