A lead-acid has very low internal resistance so it will supply as many amps as the load demands - sound like your motors are pulling too much current - any fuses in your circuits? Are the drive shafts tight? Do the motors smell REALLY hot?

An expensive problem you have there.
Obviously the motor (motors ?) are taking too many amps or your Esc's are underrated or faulty.
The first test is connect each motor via an ammeter directly to the battery and see what they read. The most obvious choice next is to fit a fuse in the line because it takes some power to burn out wires.
Hope this helps

The ESC maybe correctly rated - if there were fuses to protect it from overload of a stalled motor.

What size are the motors,500,600,700,etc?
What is the speed control rated at?what make and model?
How have you wired them up?
Are both motors running of one esc.?
