With the recent firework festivities I keep finding spent rocket sticks, I was out with the dog the one day last week and saw one sticking in the ground, on picking it up I noticed it was actually quite good wood about 6mm square and spruce or some thing very similar, since then I have picked up a few in varying sizes and when cleaned and in some cases dried out they are perfectly good to use on models, I've used them for some of the cross members on my type 42, Just my way of recycling %) %)

I can't help wondering as to the price of these sticks. They must add something to the overall costs of the rocket.
Also, can you imagine one of these landing on you whilst falling from a great height.

You are right there Ken, there must be a fair few of these falling from the sky over a given area, I picked one up this morning 10mm square if that hit you end on that's got to hurt. but they save us a couple of quid. %%

I had one go through the corrugated Perspex roof of an outbuilding a few years ago.
I also collect them, I have used them and coffee stirrers to make Scale Pallets.

I stopped picking then=m up a year or so back as I've now got more than I have a need for. :-)) Agree about the added cost to the firework and the need to wear a crash helmet out walking after dark :}
