Just goes to show that ship models built in the last century were not all made as builders models. Some were enjoyed in their natural element as well:O)
I found this on Ebay a few moments ago. it is quite interesting to see the old wooden ship in the background and the Spithead fort in her harlequin paint work.

I think the ship might be of HMS Collingwood or one of the Sovereigns perhaps?
