Hello to Everyone
So today i having fun riding my motorcycle, i ended in a town called Marsaxlokk and something caught my attention.
it looked to be a patrol boat, but I'm not sure, the hull is all wooden construction and i think also most of the superstructure, i tried to search on the internet to find what exactly it is but so far no luck. maybe the closes clue is it could be an old Italian patrol boat by baglietto.
any idea what it might be?

Well Daniel...she definitely has a double diagonal planked outer hull....but some of the inner structure appear to be single diagonal planked >>:-( ...
Having said this...the hull appears to be in reasonably good condition.......possibly the Maltese climate?.....circ 1950>1960's?.........Derek

Given the long history of British forces in Malta might it be an ex-RAF rescue boat? [Ed. Like mudway says :-) ]
Probably sold into private use (hence the paint job) and subsequently 'retired'.

Only by a few years, if she'd gone in the water in or after 1966 she would be a Vosper, technically speaking. She is, however, a good looking boat I hope she's saved!

looks like one of the old asr boats from 1954 1960 I was posted there for a time from raf luqa just up the road

We were on Malta in August this year (it was hot!) and saw this boat as we drove past on the bus. I assumed it was a seaplane tender at the time so it is interesting to see that in fact it is a RSL.
There is a very good Aviation Museum at Ta'Qali and if it were possible to renovate this boat that would be a great home for it. The museum raised a Hurricane from the sea bed and restored it so should not be beyond their capabilities.

well in order to renovate it, I'm afraid first they need to renovate there pockets. according to david rose website http://rsl1654.weebly.com/restoration-progress.html it's in private hands and the asking price is 23000 euros :o
so I'm afraid there's no chance to see it at least in good static display
