Here is another sun tug that I built earlier this year, the Sun XVII ex Empire Margaret to 1/32nd scale. plank on frame.

Hi Dodes  yes they always looked smart and the final topcoat of paint after chipping,sanding undercoating and top coating was mixed 50/50 paint and gloss varnish, no matt or satin on Sun tugs. :-)) :-))  or come to think of on ANY tug that I worked on Always a high gloss finish and as soon as the weather got to it it was glossed again. O0 O0

Hi Tugmad, yes that is how I remember Sun tugs, my Dad was a chief engineer in that outfit, so I suppose I will have a bias towards them. But they where technically ahead of the others, when you consider they introduced the new type of diesel tugs such as the 19 onwards.
