Doubt if you can get the body separately, plenty on EBay , various sizes . . .
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MODEL-BOAT-RUDDER-X-Large-includes-Post-and-Fittings-/201175298918?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item2ed6fb7366
Watch the pack & post costs .

HI Chris
Are you looking for the nut that tightens down on the part through the hull? If so it is a standard thread, go to a tool stockist, the type that do machine tools.
If its the nut and bolt through the swively bit, again it is a standard item from either a model shop or the engineers supplies again.
Hope this helps

Thanks guys
Its the nylon/hollow plastic screw and nut it has o rings and tightens around the shaft...
Cant find it advertised anywhere.... :embarrassed: :o
-
The part is called the "sleeve", it is not available separately, but the whole assembly costs very little..... http://www.cornwallmodelboats.co.uk/acatalog/boat_rudders.html
-
I thought they might be sold separately or readily available.....as I broke one
I think its a caldercraft style rudder system, so I may contact them :-))
As you say there not expensive, but every penny helps
Cheers

why not use a piece of plastruct tubing with same inside dia as that you have....and glue it into the hull with a support block............simple little job....and being plastic self lubricating....no need for oil or Vaseline to keep free.
-
Cheers Neil....I know it could be done with no frills its getting some plastic to fit :police: <*<
I quite like the plastic sheath and tightening bolt, {:-{ :((
-
Yep that's what I would do either plastic or brass tube to suit the rudder shaft, and as Neil said with a support, bonded in with epoxy, job done, plastic threads are easily damaged.

Hi Chris.
I may have summit like wot you want in the spares box, I would need to know the I/D of the hole and the tube LOA.
Its called the rudder tube the part that you require.
This is the coy that makes the assemblies if you want to try them first....???

Hi Chris
If your stuck let me know. 2 recent builds I have used brass tube in tube for the rudder assembly plus the brass rudder only. The unused parts will be about in the spares box. I have a Radio Active complete mini rudder set old but still in bag but the rudder was covered with wood which has since been scrapped off so the rudder isn't nice and shiny but still has it's shape. part no I-RMA3062 R/C Rudder Mini (EA)
In Ayr a lot or at the AMB club Sundays.

Hi Frank
Ive not ordered it, but the company will provide any loose item on any of their products. So they will provide the sheath, nut and o rings..for just over a pound..
They also said If I wanted a 100 of them, they would supply no problem as they make it.
Music to my ears, thanks for the link again Frank :-))
