Some months ago New Brighton MBC disbanded and their tow, "Elizabeth Waldie", was acquired by Balne Moor MBC.
The ship was in need of repair so one of our members, Roy Whitton, undertook a major overhaul. The ship is now ready for work and will be brought back into service on Sunday 12 April.
Why not come along and be one of the first to tow this beautiful refurbished ship.
-
That looks like one big ship!
-
See you there :-))
-
It's about ten feet long Brian, and is dwarfed only by the "San George" which also lives at Balne Moor.
Look forward to meeting you Adam. I'll be the one with the "Ormesby Cross".
Michael
-
Thanks Michael, I'll be looking forward to that. The Ormesby and Ayton cross are my favourite tugs.
I'll have one with me of course.
Oh and on the above subject...my Type 45 is 16ft, so she'd dwarf that tow too. Not as good looking as the San George though. :D
-
looks a thousand percent better great job Roy
-
Great job! I just wish there were tows like this down in this part of the world for my little fleet to have a tug at!
-
The day of its original launch at New Brighton. With Ron Eyre's Maplegarth, my Yewgarth and Stuey Waldies West Cock. Made in Stuey Waldies spare bedroom by the three of us!
-
Hi Martin.
Some one must have nicked the wheelhouse before it came to Balne Moor plus some other bits, but it's up & running now, will be
towing her on Sunday, look out for the photos. Did it have a paint job while it was at Newbrighton?
Cheers

That looks like it was a great day out, interesting looking course as well. Out of interest, the Salvador Dali - looks like a damens type design, was it scratch built or kit form. It is certainly a credit to the builder and very unusual too.
cheers
Trev.
