HI Guys
Yesterday I sent a small order to Cornwall model Boats
and hade it had dropped on to my doormat by midday today
Now Thats What I Call GOOD SERVICE O0
Reg
-
I'd second that absolutely. I order various bits and pieces from Cornwall model boats quite often and it's always here the next day without fail...even if I order fairly late in the day. :-))
-
I too have always had excellent service from Cornwall Model Boats.
However, a word of warning!
In the past, every time a 'Good Service' topic has been started it has degenerated into a 'Poor service/Complaint' topic with the result that it has had to be either pulled or locked. :(( Could we therefore confine posts to 'Good Service' only please?
Complaints re bad service, and indeed anything else, should be resolved directly between the complainant and the supplier

Component Shop, gizmos and things :-))
Forge Bear, 1/16 Tank Bits :-))
Tankzone, as above :-))
Maritime Books, have a guess :-))

Great service from 2K Technologies, https://www.facebook.com/2ktechnologies I wanted some Billing mast bands and there were none in the UK, 2K kept me updated on the deliveries into the UK direct from Billings, called me again last week saying the bits were on the way to them, and called yesterday saying they were in and being dispatched same day, real old school customer service!
-
ordered an electronize esc 1100hrs Monday arrived1030 Tuesday buy british great service Bill.

hello,
Hope this is in the right place. Just to give people the heads up, I ordered a hull from smb hulls in Belgium and I received it today, fantastic hull, super service considering the language barrier and great packaging. Credit where it due. Highly recommended.
-
Ordered online 1457 yesterday.
Dispatched 1525.
Delivered today 1348.
Well done, Component Shop! :-))
If only they were all like this! O0
-
I have always found them top notch. Excellent service :-))
-
That is why we all use them
Iain shows how it should be done :-))
Others should take a leaf out of Cp Shop's
book.

Not so sure been waiting a week for some small components, but normally quick service to be fair.
-

If you go into PREVIEW after noticing any errors then you have time to alter the font size UP from size 2. I have altered your first post to show

I have been a customer for years and found service and delivery to be average. On this occasion however, I thought they deserved a special mention. Less than 24 hours is extraordinary and almost as quick as getting to my nearest modelshop!
-
To some extent I think it is simply a matter of timing. If your order is received and actioned just in time to catch the post you will get very quick delivery.
I always find normal service to be pretty good.
Colin

You've got 'blinking!' good eyesight Doug!!!!! :o :o :o
Carrots and whisky but not necessarily on that order :-))
-
No one seems to give the actual parcel carrier any praise thou >>:-(
-
Which I think is Royal Mail! (and maybe Santa on Christmas Eve)
Colin
-
Funny you only hear about the deliveries that go wrong!

I think my post negates that Ned?
-
I meant the carriers.Bob,
The Comp Shop will normally despatch items ordered before
the cut off time, the same day.
How quickly it arrives on the door mat is down to the carrier.
Ned
-
Sorry, misread you! :-))

....CORNWALL MODEL BOATS.
After waiting for an order for 2 brass props from another southern model shop (which after a week and a half of trying to contact, apparently "don't do emails"), I phoned up Cornwall Model Boats last Friday afternoon to check if they had them in stock.
The lady on the phone checked in the warehouse and as they had them both, promptly put them in the post that afternoon and I received them the following morning.
How's that for service..... absolutely brilliant!
Kev.

i use them all the time first class service i think! :-))

Hi,
Just back to original comment my order was missed but payment taken <*< but back on track now, but we should always appreciate the dwindling numbers of suppliers out to keep our interests at heart. So a big thumbs up!
:-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-))

Me too, ordered 3pm yesterday and delivered 2.15pm today. Service that just happens.( or so you would imagine )
-
I buy most of my bits and pieces from here. Always a great service with quick delivery too. I was just hoping that they would have a January sale but alas no :embarrassed:
-
Always had excellent service from CMB. They even go out of their way to source unusual items (I needed a 'bespoke' coupling once).
We need to keep promoting the good ones to keep them in business.
Kev.
-
Even more great service from CMB - I ordered some glue and was accidentally sent the wrong type. I contacted Sarah who has immediately sent me the correct type of glue but has also told me to keep the original package too just in case it comes in handy. I know who I'll be buying my next kit from :-))
-
I ordered CAP Maquettes Fittings: D Section Fenders 10mm x 5mm.
Showed in stock, and still does, but when package arrived it was out of stock.
With the postage the remaining items doubled in price.
Contacting Sarah, was told that item out of stock until at least March.
Not such Excellent Service.
-
You will probably find the fault lays elsewhere. The clue is in your first line....Cap something or other??

No ordered the correct part number, which showed that description.

I apologise for the confusion and me being vague...the chances are the delay in availability is at Cap
Maquettes end. As far as the online ordering issue, stuff happens!

Too true; however at least you've been given a realistic delivery date. I cannot even remember the amount of times I've ordered something online only to be told over and over again that its on its way and it never turns up. Thats not customer service thats just stringing the customer along. If the seller is straight with me about delivery dates I can always work to that and I also appreciate honesty.

In which case it shouldn't show as in stock on CMB website then. I recently had a similar issue with some wood, whole order was delayed while they waited for delivery of of wood that was showing as in stock.
-
It would be good practice to dispatch what they had, then send the outstanding, post free, if there were long delays. If only a few days delay however, patience costs us little.
-
A word for Howes in Oxford...yesterday morning I ordered two micro servos and a motor mount for the Jelly Bean. Package has just dropped through the letter box...now that's pretty good service in my book.

True, but they haven't.
I have to reorder and pay P&P again.
it still shows as in stock, despite being told that it's not due until at least March.
-
Ordered some bits and pieces from Cornwall Model Boats lunch time Thursday and they plopped through my letter box 08.45 today (Sat)
-
Well done Cornwall Model Boats :-))

Yeah always had good service from them, I have noticed lately they are out of stock on a few items I will be needing but I doubt very much that it's their fault more likely the current situation we are in.

For a second there, though I was going to have to report this thread to the moderators - it's a family forum {-)
-
It is nice to report good service, like the other postings, I ordered some bits from "Mastman" and they came the next day,
.Cant do better that that, excellent, nemesis
-
The good supplier is only half the service, the courier/post office is the second half ;)
-
In a way I agree but can you explain why post from Cornwall models comes the next say and localish post takes days.
-
Letter post (Royal Mail) is running very slowly at the moment, but Parcel Force deliveries are currently running at 24 to 48 hours. not bad in the circumstances.

The bills still manage to get through though
-
I ordered some wood from Sussex Model centre on Tues afternoon and it came next day at 5 pm. How is that for service? Excellent. Well done to the crew, nemesis
-
I ordered some goods from the Leeds Model shop on Friday afternoon and it was delivered just after 9 am today. How is that for next day service. I think it is excellent, Nemesis
-
Who was the courier?
-
I've always found Leeds Model Shop very good.

Reports in the press are that the letters are being ignored and the parcels have priority so there is a massive backlog of letters in the sorting offices. The more extreme reports in the gutter press are that you shouldn't expect your Christmas post before February.

That would make sense. Parcels are profitable and where the Post Office has to compete with all the other carriers whilst letters are just a legal requirement that they would like rid of.
In reality our post seems slow but OK.
-
Pity the rail services don't have to compete with each other and if you think nationalism is the answer - - - - NHS.
Regards Ian.
