Title: Buying tip.

This came up on another forum and the answer has some relevance for modellers:

Have you seen those Barclay's Digital Eagles adverts? "Put the item in your basket but don't rush to check out - the retailer may come back to you with an offer for a quick transaction". Oh yeah? In whose imagination?? How long am I supposed to wait?

Definitely works on hobbyking.. put in the basket, go and make a cup of coffee and when you get back there is often a popup offering a percentage discount.

I've no idea what the Barclays adverts are, but 'hobbyking' caught my eye  :-)

Don't even need to put it in the basket.
Just browse and spend a bit of time on
a page and you often get a revised price.

Try browsing for cheapest flights to Oz, when you go back to cheapest they've gone up!

Mostly works in reverse - the more you look at something, the more 'valuable' it must be so as you look around other sites, the price increases.

You can try Ghostery add-on or private browsing to stop them identifying you as you browse - it sometimes works but most are ip logging.
