Title: Planet receiver aerial
Post by: carlmt on June 07, 2015, 12:07:52 am
Which way? Horizontal or vertical?
I know it needs to be above the waterline, but which orientation?
Cheers chaps!

Hi carmit, in my experience with the Planet the aerial position has,nt really mattered but I
Always make sure they are above waterline out of the way (the aerial can easily be broken)
Then the soldering iron has to come to the rescue.
I you have someone to hold the boat in the water for you while you do a range check, all
Should be o/k

:-)) The Planet sets are pretty bomb proof,I use p5 for my grandson's little boat whch he has dropped many times,as for range no problems we have had the boat so far out in the lake you can just about see it,I always make sure there are new batteries in Tx and Rx,Ray. :-))

As high up in the HULL as you can get it , vert' or horiz' doesn't matter , but you have to be able to get at the binding switch if the receiver drops out for any reason , I also use a thin plastic shield around the unit to protect the fragile aerial and to avoid splashes .
