Title: How to noise insulate motors....
Post by: henly1234 on July 21, 2015, 09:12:48 pm
... do they need to be air cooled or can I wrap them in cotton wool, no seriously how can I insulate them to deaden the noise and help my noisything engine  noises come over better?

You could try packing them underneath with rubber washers/spacers.

I bed my motors in silicon if I have a problem. That said, it's more common to find that the noise is coming from the driveline. Disconect the coupling from the motor and run it to check.
Some couplings have a dodgy reputation, and whip in a shaft can cause noise.
