Hi,
Just to remind anyone that can get to the Coatbridge area, that the Scottish Federation of Model Boat Clubs annual show is on this weekend Sat 12th and Sun 13th Sept at Summerlee Heritage Centre, Heritage Way, Coatbridge, ML5 1QD. Admission is free and apart from the models of all types, the Heritage Centre is well worth a visit in it's own right.
Hope to see you there.

Hi John,
What traders are going this year.
Ron
-
Ron, traders attending this year are:
Scoonies, Alba Models, Clyde Models and Steve's Model Bits

Great if anything like the last couple of years, it'll be a good show.
It's a great venue.
Ron

Looking forward to the show,
Always a good variety of models on display :-))

Hopefully be there on Sunday.
Always a good show.

Will there be sailing in the Canal at the back of the museum again this year ?...
See You There on Sunday...Norry & Wee Harry...

Hi Lads
What is the best day to go ? I'll treat myself to this show as its been a long time since I was at at one.
-
I have to say both days are as good. However if you are after boats for sale in the bring and buy, there will obviously be a better choice on Saturday.
-
What are the opening times?
BM
-
Show runs from 10am to 4pm both days
-
Geids
Looks like a Saturday but I'll try and not buy anything except some accessories :-))
-
...Hi Guys...
This is a great " FREE" event to spend time with your family this weekend...
So if the funds are low and you are looking for something to do, Then why not
Come Along and see the models on display and the museum itself of course...
I have posted your original posting on my Facebook page, John...I hope this is OK with you...
...Best Regards...Norry...GRMBC member...
-
I'll be there for sure :-)) really looking forward to it.
Saturday after that there is a model railways exhibition in Ayr. Going there too, as Squires tools are there and buy some goods tools.
Hopefully I haven't high jacked this thread.
-
Easily one of the best events in the Scottish modelling Calendar.
I've always had a great time on both days, sorry I'll miss it this year.
Have a great weekend lads :-))
-
Just back from Summerlee, ten minutes' down the road from me - I'd have stayed longer but I have to work tonight :(( .
It's a great venue and there are some awesome models on display. Before going I'd rather wondered if Ian's 1/72nd scale HMS Dreadnought (http://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,51931.0.html) might be present, and so it was. :-)) My day was made!
Many thanks for the in-depth chat, Ian. The model is a credit to you and your skills.

We had a good day out. Seen the above model and Ian good display of RNLI models.
-
Thanks Andy, good to meet you too, always good to talk to a fellow Dreadnought nut! I know you'll get yours finished and we'll be able to sail in formation!
My first time at the show, and a good selection of boats, and a few trade stalls, and lots of great people. if you are able, it's worth a visit tomorrow (Sunday, 13th Sept) and it's free entry to the show / museum!!
Pics of the Edinburgh Model Boat Club stand below, I'll take some more general ones of the show tomorrow and post again tomorrow night

As promised, more pictures from Summerlee, held on Flickr on the below link, including some of the larger exhibits at the museum.....

My personal favourite from the show was an atmospheric Springer tug, simply packing detail, humour and interest in a small package (just my opinion of course), enjoy!

Excellent show! I went today but sorry I couldn't persuade the Dundee club to attend and exhibit.
