Looking to buy a 6 channel 2.4 gig radio set.
I don't need a computerised set but do want good cheap (ish) receivers.
Looking for owners recommendations not just adverts.

I have one for my BNF Helicopters/Planes and its a jolly nice bit of kit for the money.
I actually have 2 if you want one?

Hi ya Bob
I was going to suggest purchasing an inexpensive Futaba 6XA - the old one - on 35 mghz - and converting it to 2.4 with the 'old' Corona kit which is quite straight forward to do.
I have been on to Ebay (again :-) ) to source it to see how much it would cost and if the Corona kit is still available. Quite surprised when I typed in 2.4 6 channel transmitter and how cheaply you can get one - £40 or so - and they look like they are of reasonable quality. For the price - I don't think you could do a conversion much cheaper.

I run six boats with my Saturn 6 (not at the same time of course) and it's around five years old, it's never failed, value for money at around £50. O0

I would go for A spektrum set, either original Spektrum or the orange set already mentioned.
It's the closest you will get to a standard system on 2.4ghz, and you have a very wide range of receivers to choose from at the cheapest prices on the market.
Corona system is also good IMO, however you pay more for the receivers, so it'll work out more expensive long term if you have a lot of models to convert.
