Hi,
I am building a model of HMS Bellona.
Progress has been slow and, for some reason unlike previous models, not many in progress photos but here are a few:-

Ooh that is a bobby dazzler Sandy! This is one of my long term 'want to build' projects. Is that a J.R.Haynes Pompom? She is coming along really nicely.
-
Nice looking build Sandy. Is the hull from FleetScale and 1/128?
-
Looking good sandy to see it all
Instead of Wee bits :-))
To answer some questions it is 1:72 scale :o
-
Sounds like the Australian hull mentioned in Model Warships. APS I think. Very nice too.
-
Hi,
Thanks Colin.
Yes, it is 72nd scale. The hull is from Tim Amos of Southern Cross Models. The 5.25inch turrets and the torpedo tubes are from Allan Pew of APS.
The quad pompoms are Battlecraft and the running gear is from George Sitek.
All the best

Excellent build Sandy, I'll keep an eye on this one, she looks to be around 6 foot long going by the first photo, she is going to be very impressive on the water, :-))
-
Hi Joe,
84 inches long so a bit big...
(http://i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh499/sandymercer/Sitting%20on%20table%20-%20gap%20almost%20gone%20with%20stern%20overhanging%20table%20end_zpsyln5htaj.jpg)
RMS Columba is 75 inches long.
Came in two halves with tubes and jointing pins so it would all line up nicely.

Hi Sandy, I was trying to judge the length going by the kitchen units, course knowing the scale and the name I could have calculated it but I was being lazy %% {-) lovely build though, nice side wheeler too :-))
-
Amen :-))
-
corrr, very nice. :-))
-
Hi,
Put the running gear in today.
Usual messy botch job of the fibre glassing %) Never seem to get that right.

Nice job on the running gear Sandy, there's something about open shafts, I always fit them now, I guess they just look right, never mind inside once the deck's on only you, and a few thousand people who read this thread will know. %% {-) {-)
-
Damn ... at least they all turn nicely. :-)
-
Like Joe's build log last winter this is definitly one to watch with interest Sandy. I can't wat to see the superstructure and turrets etc if the running gear is anything to go by. All should be brill :-))
-
Progress still slow .... %)

-
Progress indeed Sandy. You know its going to look good once the Pompoms appear :-))
-
That is one impressive model, not only in size but in quality. I'll definitely be watching for further progress. :-))
-
Not that much further forward:-

Putting it away soon to move onto something else.
-
That is looking really nice so far :-)) How can you put it away? I would have to touch it every day, ace looking.

Just a wee bit more:-
