What a simple and brilliant idea! I particularly like the 'spare' seat announcement!! It's hard to beat Israeli technology!
TEL AVIV, Israel - The Israelis are developing an airport
security device that eliminates the privacy concerns that come with full-body scanners.
It's an armored booth you step into that will not X-ray you, but will detonate any explosive device or material you may have on your person.
Israel sees this as a win-win situation for everyone, with none of this crap about racial profiling.
It will also eliminate the costs of long and expensive trials.
You're in the airport terminal and you hear a muffled
explosion. Shortly thereafter, an announcement:
"Attention to all standby passengers, El Al is pleased to
announce a seat available on flight 670 to London. Shalom!"
BRILLIANT!

Indeed, but the idea is now out there for future use.

From every joke comes a spark of a bright idea!

Oh how I wish! it is only the guilty who would complain after all if you are innocent what would the problem be entering an enclosed cabinet we all have to go through a metal detector at airports.
Bring it on.
Cheers,

I wouldn't fancy trying it after Xmas dinner's Sprout Festival. One stray spark and there's another spare seat :o
-
I wonder what it would do to pacemakers, possibly some more spare seats. %% {-)

Are pacemakers explosive??? My mate is worried now! %%

{-) {-) my thinking was whatever the armoured booth had to detonate explosives might be electronic etc. etc. %%

I know this story about Israeli security is a joke - but in real life I found it so. Some years ago at Tel Aviv I was leaving after a holiday and I put my carry-on bags through the security X-ray machine that looked like a broken down toaster, operated by a bored guy who wasn't even looking at the screen. I then found that airside passengers could freely leave the area and go back outside the airport!! This was at a time when terrorist activity was at it's height. When I mentioned it to an officer, all I got was a shrug and then questioned about why I was questioning their security! %)
