Could anyone tell me quickly what are the dimensions on a 1/12 Severn rudder.
Working from drawings I have access to I thought the following would apply
Vertical height 62mm (ish)
Top edge 58MM
bottom edge 26mm
The rudder i have measures
Vertical Height 50mm
Top edge 50mm
bottom edge 22mm
There could be a few reasons for this including I am getting it wrong or the drawings have been updated.
Thanks in advance

Hi Les,
My rudders are 63mm deep, 60mm across the top and 26mm at the lower edge, at 12th scale.
The RNLI drawing measures out at 63mm X 64mm x 26.5mm, however the docking plan shows it to be 62 x 57 x 25mm.
a small discrepancy in the plans, If I had known I could have measured them accurately when the boat was out for hull cleaning.
Kind regards 17-09

Thanks for the quick response.
I was double checking the plan to see where to drill the rudders when I became aware that the rudders in the kit are a different size to what I was deducing from the drawings.
I don't know if there is a logical explanation for this

Les,
Cannot answer that one, rudder size can increase the effectiveness in model form sometimes!

Hi 17-09
Thanks for your speedy response.
Out of interest where does your 1/12 Severn come from? Was it a kit?

Hi Les,
Yes it's a Speedline, ex Phil Locke,s, now rebuilding as Dover's boat. Took it back to a kit again then spent three years making many new parts from information and research on the real 17-09. quicker to start from scratch I fear, another year at least required.
good luck with yours
