Just to say hello to you all.
This will be my first build and feel a kit would be the best way to start.
Initial thoughts are a Midwest Fantail launch with a Pintail engine or a Krick Borkum with a Puffin engine.
Any comments / advice would be much appreciated.
Thank you
Trelawney.

Welcome to Mayhem Trelawny!
I am sure you will get all the assistance you need here from experience members.
Have a good peruse of the various boards and get a feel for for what is going on and you will also pick up some gems of information.

Not Cornwall, wrong end of the country - ORKNEY
Just out of interest - why the guessing game ?
Some advice would be far more helpful please, and appreciated.

Sorry about that Trelawney,
Just banter that rears its ugly head occaisionally.
There are many steam modellers on Mayhem who
Will be happy to steer you in the right direction.
Dave couldn't have got your location much further
from home.
Anyway welcome to the Forum that is Mayhem.

Likewise; Welcome to the Mayhem! :-))
Is there a significant price difference between the two options?
-
Thank you for the welcome
Price difference not enough difference to worry about.
I have just found out that Stuart have them both on offer at under half price so both are worth buying -I am thinking the Pintail for the fantail and the Puffin for the Borkum from what I have read on the forum so far.
It is just that I would like to know that i am on the right lines, as the heritage unit seems unavailable.
Thanks.

:-)) I have both engines and they are reliable and easy to work with, only difference is mine are original Chedder and not the Stuart copies but Stuart is a good make so you should not have any problems......Ray. :-)) :-)) :-))
