Anyone used this Polymorph, Plastimake, Instamorph, Shapelock Polycaprolactonestuff?
( There's also another, similar substance called Sugru )
Can you do anything clever with it?

Occasionally

Not tried it yet Martin but it looks very interesting. Graham

It looks like it will do everything that epoxy putty will, and it will set faster, and maybe it can be re-usable.
Looking at it, in theory it could be used for press moulding, but resin moulding would probably give you better results.
I think the main uses are covered in the Hobbyking video on youtube, quick repairs and making blobs/feet.
My next thoughts are:
How strong is it?
Is it affected by UV?
Can it be painted over?
Does it file/sand well?

I was given some Sugru for Christmas - still trying to work out what I can use it for %% . It actually has a fairly limited shelf life.

My wife bought me some of this from QVC years ago and I've used it to repair items and even mould new ones when beyond repair. Don't know about the shelf life though. I also have some that can be melted and moulded in the air stream from a car heater blower.....never used that. %) %)

I have some of those. I bought them years ago and still have some unopened bags. When it's transparent you have to mix it well and then it turns white as it hardens.

I've used the sugru stuff before, its pretty useful stuff
-
What did you use it for?
-
What did you use it for?
All sorts of silly, but ultimately useful things
Most useful one being a charger plug mod for my mum's ipad Air
My mum has pretty bad arthritis in her hands and the little lightning connector on the iPad was a bit difficult to plug in and out. So I moulded and extra bit onto the connector that is easier for her to grip
Its also good fun to mix with lego

I bought some poly-morph, just because it seemed so brilliant a concept, I just had to have some.
Since then I have salvaged a broken switch by moulding a new toggle and made a mould for a spare part for my compressor.......I love it. :-))
