Dead? What????
I'm not sure if I believe it yet, but if it's true then a big chunk of my life just left. Too much to take in, so soon after Lemmy.

Afraid so Dave. The Thin White Duke has Gone to the Spiders on Mars.
Another part of my youth gone.
-
One of the first 'pop' stars that seem to understand how the modern media worked!
Davis Bowie, The Man, The music, The legend, the good memories! - RIP.
-
He really was the guy on my teen turntable and will be greatly missed. The guy had an amazing ability to reinvent himself and always before the fans had tired of his current showface. Let's hope Black Star is as good as his best.
Diamond Dogs will be howling today.

Incredible artist.
Incredible loss.
RIP

I have to confess, I never did like his music even as a youth, but I admire him for what he did for music in this world. He took boring soporific pop out and gave us all something different to listen too. And it comes to something when the Royal Symphony Orchestra could do a whole show at the Royal Albert Hall based upon his music, of which I had the privilege of going to in the late 1970's
He was a true showman and someone never shy to put his avant garde showmanship on the line to further the genre of "pop rock" as against the humdrum of similar "Mersey beat" same old same old "bubblegum music"
He will be missed by many and I hope that his music will live on especially for those who loved his music. Something that I can't believe will happen with such dross as that of 5sos, One direction and the lot.
He deserves his accolade as a true inspiration to others and may he rest in peace.
A sad reflection on this will be though his new Album Black Star going to number one in the album charts, when his last one didn't quite make the grade. How fickle people are.
Jim.

I agree a good showman , some music good others not to my taste that's not to say is rubbish . A big miss from the music scene .
However what I do take issue is the BBC 1:0 clock news just short of half the Bullatin on his demise and the top story ,news editors have a strange view on world affairs .

RIP David
I remember when I was first introduced properly to his music when I watched the truly brilliant TV series Life on Mars and the follow up Ashes to Ashes. Since then I've loved his music.
I watched some snippets of video for his last album Black Star and I thought he looked unwell but like many others I didn't realise how unwell he was.
Miss you Ziggy! <:(

Yes, now you now he was ill it is more obvious that he was drawn somewhat. A photo put out by his family on the day Black start was released showed David smiling and in a dapper suit, but he was even thinner than we have known him over the years.
I think the image showed a man at peace with his mortality, but strong and determnined to see a project completed despite the cancer and its nasty effects. I imagine that his rock and roll lifestyle finally caught up with him sadly.
RIP Mr Bowie, genius will live on but will it sound as good?

A sad early end for such a musical genius, his influences will be missed. <:(
