Hello, new to this forum and boat building in general, lots of RC aircraft under my belt though.
I have a brushless motor for a EDF UNIT 4000kv 28mm unit with 3.175 shaft and am just about to start a build of the Aeronaut Spitfire which uses an outboard Aeronaut Aqua Race 60 power unit, question is can I use the brushless inrunner OK as size wise it's a good fit, I am using a turnigy 60amp ESC which is water cooled so that's no problem but cannot seem to find much on a spitfire build or suitable motors. Planning on a 35mm prop.
Any advice well appreciated?
Thanks
Paul

I guess it depends on what voltage battery you will use. A 2 cell Lipo will be spinning the prop at almost 30,000 rpm (7.4 x 4000) unloaded which might be too much for the flexidrive

The recommended is 4000kv max running off 2 X 2s 1800 lipos in parallel so expecting to run at that. These are Aeronaut specs but happy to take advice on what to motor to choose as marketing is always take with a pinch of salt
