Has anyone any tips when building the Scale Warships etch brass type 965 aerial array?
I have purchased two units to build a double array for a type 42 destroyer, just wondered if anyone has built them
and can offer any advice. I was considering soldering them together but now think cyano would be better.
Lovely etch worth building nice!
Thanks 17-09

Yes I built one for my HMS Coventry, not easy at all, I used Cyano mostly and solder paste for the bits that hold the shaft. ;)

Hi Radiojoe,
That looks really nice, I guess its just a case of taking time and not rushing it, did you make a jig up?
The IFF oblong on top of the array, has it other parts as it's only a plate on the etch, I thought they were like an oblong box structure.
Thanks for posting

Didn't use a jig, just put each front plate face down and added each section one at a time with thin Cyanoacrylate then added the cross pieces, whether it is technically right is doubtful but it suits me. %%

Has anyone got a picture of a 944/1010 IFF interrogator aerial please

Hi there Captain(Ray)
Thanks for the photo,s, from them I can certainly see the IFF aerial and it's construction. It does have a width and a shape that I can replicate, lovely shots of Glasgow on the Thursday War, I had a mate on her during the Falklands war in 82. This aerial is apparently the same on the 1022 and the 965 air warning arrays
All I have to do now is build the complicated little thing!
Thanks 17-09 (Alan)
