Title: plywood frames
Post by: durhambargeman on August 05, 2007, 04:11:36 pm

Could anyone advise on the minimum thickness of plywood needed, for the frames of a 42" hull which will eventually be planked with 2mm planks to the outside and keel? Thankyou

Hi,

I used 6mm ply on a 48 inch hull. That is plenty strong enough. I also planked in 2mm cedar, see 'steam drifter build' in Tugs, Trawlers, Lifeboats, Police Boats, Workboats, Passenger, etc section on this forum.
